Is There Any Site Preparation Required?
You will need to prepare the site for rainwater tank. Decide where you are going to put the tank.
Note the location of the downpipes from the roof. The closer the tank is to a downpipe, the simpler and cheaper the installation will be.
It is recommended that the site must be a solid, level compacted base that extends beyond the diameter of the tank and will not be eroded by wind or rain. Suitable bases can be brick, concrete, gravel or solid dolomite between 300 -400mm in depth.
You can use a water tank stand but it must be designed by a qualified consulting engineer.
Remember that once there is water in the tank, it will weigh an enormous amount and as such will require a flat stable surface.
