Commercial Rainwater Harvesting
With a massive water catchment potential, commercial and industrial premises are able to catch and store enormous amounts of water. Water is stored in tanks, either in above or below ground, and the reuse potential is significant. Even airports have installed roof systems to catch stormwater. Many local councils are undertaking initiatives to launch innovative stormwater and water re-use projects
Commercial systems are obviously much larger than domestic systems. All of the parts that make up the system are far larger and the system itself can be very complex.
It makes excellent financial sense as commercial buildings or schools have a huge demand on water. These buildings often also have a large roof area which is ideal for harvesting water.
More and more countries are seeing the benefits and increasingly rainwater harvesting systems are becoming a part of the standard specification of new buildings.
